2 3/4’ tall x 2 3/4’ wide with an intermediate habit. Flowers salmon-red with a Strong Red (53B) blotch. Double with up to 20 petals (7 + 8 + 5), funnel-shaped, oval rounded and overlapping lobes with wavy edges, 3” wide x 2” long, 2-3 per cluster. Blooms early-midseason (early May in Oak Hill, VA). Calyx Strong Yellow-Green (143C), 3/16” long. Foliage Strong Yellow-Green (143A), semiglossy. Leaf shape: elliptic, cuneate base, acuminate tip, concave (side-to-side), downcurved (base to tip), up to 2 1/4” long x 1” wide. Zone 7. Selection number: RBS 171. Breeder code: #2-2002-3. Cross: ‘Haru-no-Hibiki’, Belgian Indian x ‘Karee Lynn’, Stewart. Named for David (Dave) Nanney, who has served at the national level as a Director, and in many capacities for the Northern Virginian Chapter.
