| 2 ½’ tall x 2 ½’ wide with a dense habit. Flowers Vivid Purplish-Red (67B) with a prominent Deep Purplish-Red (71A) blotch. Double with 15 (10 + 5) petals plus some petaloid stamens. Broad funnel-shaped with rounded, overlapping lobes, frilly edges, 3 1/2” wide x 2” long, 1-3 per cluster. Blooms early-midseason (early to mid May in Oak Hill, VA). Calyx Moderate Yellow-Green (138B), 1/4” long. Foliage Moderate Yellow-Green (darker than 138A), semiglossy. Leaf shape: elliptic with a cuneate base and acuminate tip, concave side-to-side, up to 3 1/4” long x 1 1/4” wide. Zone 7. Cross: (CB #1, unnamed hybrid grown by Cliff Brown x ‘Satellite’,Belgian Indian by Klupenger) x ‘Saybrook Glory, Schroeder. Selection number: RBS 65. Breeder’s code: #2-1994-2. Named for Jean Beaudry, a decades-long ASA member. She used her considerable artistic talents to create a diverse garden haven where many azaleas cultivars flourish.
