3 1/2’ tall x 4’ wide with an intermediate habit. Flowers tonal: Strong Purplish-Red (67A) shading lighter towards the center with a Strong Purplish-Pink (64C) blotch. Hose-in-hose, funnel-shaped, rounded and overlapping lobes, frilly edges, 2 3/4” wide x 1 3/4” long, 2-3 per cluster. Blooms early-midseason (early May in Oak Hill, VA). Calyx absent. Foliage matte Strong Yellow-Green (143A). Leaf shape: elliptic, cuneate base, acuminate tip, concave (side-to-side), downcurved (base to tip), up to 2” long x 3/4” wide. Zone 7.
