Flowers variable: 1) white, heavily marked with Strong Reddish-Purple (NN78B) stripes, lines, and dashes; 2) Light Purple (77D) tints with Light Reddish-Purple (NN78D) stripes, lines and dashes and an irregular white margin; 3) Strong Reddish-Purple (NN78B) selfs. Strong Reddish-Purple (NN78A) blotch on all patterns. Single, funnel shaped with oval-rounded, overlapping lobes and wavy edges, 3 1/4” wide x 2 1/4” long, 2-5 per cluster. Blooms midseason (mid May in Oak Hill, VA). Calyx Moderate Yellow-Green (138C), 1/2” long. Foliage Leaf shape: elliptic with a cuneate base and auminate tip, concave side-to-side, up to 2” long x 1” wide. Zone 7. ‘Cinnabar’, Glenn Dale OP. Selection number: RBS 39. Breeder code: #9-91-2.
