| 3’ tall x 3 1/2’ wide with an intermediate habit. Flowers deep purplish-pink (68B) with a strong purplish-red (59D) blotch. Hose-in-hose, funnel-shaped with 10 (5 + 5) rounded, overlapping lobes and wavy edges, 2 3/4” wide x 1 3/4” long, 1-2 per cluster. Blooms early-midseason (late April to early May in Oak Hill, VA). Calyx absent. Foliage Strong Yellow-Green (143A), semiglossy. Leaf shape elliptic with a cuneate base and broadly acute tip, some slightly concave side-to-side and downcurved base to tip, up to 1 3/4” long x 3/4” wide. Hardy in Zone 7. Cross: ‘Pocono Pink’, Swell x ‘Janet Rhea’, Linwood. Selection number: RBS 23. Breeder code: #5-92-02. Named for Elizabeth (Betty) H. Queen to recognize her efforts on behalf of the Brookside Gardens Chapter. She joined the society in its formative years and served as the chapter’s Vice President.
