2’ tall x 2’ wide with an intermediate habit. Buds have outer petals of Pale Yellow-Green (193C) and cream over Strong Pink (52B) inner petals and open like tea roses. Flowers between Deep Pink (52C) and Strong Pink (52D), with irregular areas of yellow-green tinted cream, predominantly on the outer petals. Blotch Light Yellow-Green (138D), throat greenish-white. Double with up to 18 lobes (6 + 6 + 6), funnel-shaped, with rounded, overlapping, wavy-edged lobes, 2 3/4” wide x 1 ¾” long, 2-3 per cluster. Foliage Strong Yellow-Green (143A), semiglossy. Leaves elliptic with a cuneate base and acuminate tip, concave, downcurved (base to tip), up to 1 ¾” long x 3/4” wide. Zone 7; hardy to 0 F, at least. RBS 85. Breeder code: #34-98. ‘Seattle White’, Unknown x ‘Quakeress’, Glenn Dale. Named for Barbara Bullock, the Curator of Azalea Garden Collection at the U. S. National Arboretum for 29 years. In that capacity she oversaw the needs of the 40-acre garden, featuring more than 15,000 azaleas. Barbara established a National Reference Collection of, among others, the Glenn Dale hybrids and was the driving force in its restoration project. She has supported the ASA by speaking on numerous occasions at both national and chapter forums. She has made many contributions to The Azalean. For her tireless work and dedication, a Certificate of Recognition was presented to Barbara in 1999.
