1 ¼’ x 2’ (1’ x 1.7’ in 8 years), open growth habit. Vivid reddish-orange (39D) with light pink centers or blotches distributed randomly on most flowers on mature plants. Semidouble, broadly funnel-shaped, 5 wavy-edged lobes and 7-9 wavy edged petaloid stamens, 2-3 per head; 2 ½” x 1 ½” wide. Blooms late May to early June in Derwood, MD. Calyx green, 0.2”. Leaves glossy, moderate olive-green (147A) with discreet yellow hairs below and on petiole; elliptic, decurved edges, cuneate base, broadly acute apex; 0.8” x 0.5” wide. Hardy to at least -8 F, at least.
