Flowers highly variable: 1) white with both light and moderate purplish-pink sectors and stripes, yellow-green blotch; 2) fukurin: light purplish-pink with irregular white margins and dark red blotch; 3) moderate purplish-pink selfs. Single, funnel-shaped with 5 or more rounded, broadly overlapping, strongly reflexed, keeled (appearing notched) lobes and wavy edges, large. Blooms Satsuki early-midseason. Leaves large. Tetraploid (52 Chromosomes). Zone 7. Cross: ‘Shozui’, Satsuki x ‘Hosei’, Satsuki. PI 227112, 230614, 1955. |
