2 1/2’ tall x 2 1/2’ wide, upright, with a moderate rate of growth. Flowers bicolor, somewhat variable: 1) white or blush center with vivid purplish-red border; 2) occasional purplish-red selfs; 3) occasional white with light to dark purple sectors. Single, broad-funnel shaped with symmetrical rounded lobes, keeled (appearing) notched, slightly wavy edges, 2 ½-3” wide. Blooms late-midseason (Satsuki midseason, late May in Oak Hill, VA). Foliage glossy. Leaf shape: medium sized. Hardy to -5/Zone 7. Sport of ‘Aikoku’. Translation: Autumn Moon. BG 0852. |
